James T. Horton officiating. Burial was to be in Memorial Park Cemetery here. Mrs. McGowen died suddenly at her residence. Mrs. McGowen was a native of Marksville and a resident of Monroe for over 70 years. She was the widow of the late Thomas F. McGowen of Monroe. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Gilliland of Memphis; one son, Robert L. McGowen of San Antonio; two brothers, E. J. Beauclair of Camden, Ark.; and Gaston Beauclair of New Orleans; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers include Robert W. McGowen, Jerry McGowen, Eddie McGowen, Eugene McGowen, J.B. Carr and R.C. Freeman.
