Jerry Crise and Rev. Nancy Owens officiating. Interment will be held in Walnut Grove Cemetery, West Monroe. Barbara passed away peacefully at her home after a lengthy illness. "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31. Finally, she is at home with her Heavenly Father. Barbara has renewed strength and is no longer weary. Barbara was born on April 26, 1932 to parents Webb and Orangie Wilbanks. She married Hollis McGrew in 1950 and they had four children. Barbara taught school from 1971 until 1993 at Woodlawn Jr. High School. As much as she loved teaching, Barbara enjoyed her retirement. She treasured the years spent traveling with Hollis, their family, and special friends. Barbara was a charter member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church where she was an Adult Sunday School teacher for over 35 years and served numerous positions there. She cooked the most delicious dishes for Church functions and loved doing it. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Hollis McGrew; her parents; brother, Buddy Wilbanks; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and John Cromartie; sister-in-law, Lynda Wilbanks; and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law that were very dear to her. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Janice McGrew, Mike McGrew and wife Jan, David McGrew and wife Shelia, Tim McGrew and wife Christi; grandchildren, Ashley Bass and husband Dean, Casey McGrew and wife Kally, Will McGrew and wife Claire, Derek McGrew, Amber McGrew Gates and husband Tadd, Whitney McGrew, Garrett McGrew and wife Farrah, and Quinci Crane and husband Matt; great-grandchildren, Mason Bass, Henry McGrew, Alli an Auri Gates, Ryder Bailey, and Roman McGrew; sister, Agnes Cowart and husband James; brothers, Johnny Wilbanks and wife Jeanette , Jerry Wilbanks and wife Mary Jane; sisters- in-law, Pat Wilbanks and Ollie Mae McGrew; brothers-in-law, Clayton McGrew and Joe McGrew and wife Lois. She also leaves behind her beloved Woodlawn Church Family, many special friends, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dean Bass, Casey McGrew, Will McGrew, Garrett McGrew, Roy McGrew, and Sam Wilbanks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Derek McGrew, Mason Bass, and Mike Eady. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodlawn United Methodist Church in West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
