WILLIE SMITH MCGUIRE

Funeral services for Willie McGuire, 87, of West Monroe will be held at 
2:00pm Friday, January 2, 2015 at the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home in West 
Monroe with the Rev. Scott Fletcher and Rev. Mike Fletcher officiating. 
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service Friday at the 
funeral home.

Willie Smith McGuire was born on Feb. 6, 1927 in Jena, Louisiana to Enete 
and James Walter Smith and passed from this life on December 30, 2014 in 
West Monroe.

Ms. Willie spent her years as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, daughter-in-
law and especially loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was 
a founding member, along with her late husband, of Ridgedale Academy in West 
Monroe. Besides her family, Ms. Willie loved her horses and following the 
rodeo circuit. She was a special lady who could go from heels and bonnet to 
boots and cowboy hat and never lose her grace.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. McGuire; her parents; her 
mother-in-law Kate Flanagan McGuire; and her three sisters.

She is survived by her four loving children, Mary Katherine McGuire Davis, 
and husband, Mike, of Greenville, S.C.; Herman McGuire of Calhoun; Jim 
McGuire and wife, Diane of Greenville, S.C.; and Charlotte Ann McGuire 
Robinson, and husband Hook, of West Monroe, and grandchildren: Melissa Davis 
Waltman of Seneca, S.C.; Jennifer Leppard and husband, Rodney, of 
Greenville, S.C.; Jessica Bridges Thomason and husband, Adam, of Titusville, 
FL. ; J.W. Bridges, and wife Maddie, of Farmerville ; and Mandi Simmons of 
Greenville, S.C., and 12 great grandchildren.
