MCKAY Services for Mrs. Bennie H. McKay, 78 of Alto, LA will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at Alto Baptist Church with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Lynn Cemetery in Archibald, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville, LA. Mrs. McKay was involved with the school system for 30+ years. She served as vice-principal and principal at Archibald special ed. She was also supervisor for special ed at Richland Parish School Board, and served on numerous committees, having retired in 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harry G. McKay, parents; John and Sallie Holdiness, daughter; Susan Elizabeth McKay, brothers; John R. Holdiness,II, and Jeffery Lynn Holdiness, and nephews; Douglas McKay, Jr., and Donald McKay, and sister-in-law Margie McKay. Survivors include: Daughter: Marilyn McKay Wrenn. Son: Harry W. McKay, Sr. and wife Lorrie. Grandchildren: Kryslle Anne McKay, Harry W. McKay, Jr. and fiancée Stephanie. Larry and Lynn Plummer. Great Grandchildren: Braxton and McKayla French, Alexis and Easton McKay, Kolby Young, Shelby Gunn, and Mallory Grantham. Brother: Kenneth McKay, Sr., and wife Elaine. Sister: Nancy F. Johnston. Sister's-in-law: Maxine McKay, and Anne Holdiness. Numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and friends. Pallbearers are: Kenny Ray Bell, Jack "Pop's" Bell, Sidney Hill, Michael Johnston, and Gary Johnston. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. Ronnie Hubbard, Dr. Ralph Abraham, and Shelton Sharbono.
