Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Dotty McKinley, Den as she was lovingly called, was born on June 30, 1919 and passed away on October 19, 2014. She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Den was an artist, a seamstress, and a designer. She had her own distinctive, beautiful sense of style, and could be readily recognized by her signature hair and clothes. She loved sports cars, working on them as well as driving them, and painting abstract art, and later portraits of loved ones, sewing, music, and her family. Mrs. McKinley was a voracious reader and loved knowing "how things work". She was known for her ability to create, fix, build, and even invent when necessary. She was a devout Catholic who exemplified daily what it means to be a Christian. There were no bounds to her generosity. Mrs. McKinley will be remembered as a funny, talented, caring free spirit. She was loved dearly by her family, and her friends. She was the epitome of a Southern Lady, and will be missed greatly. Den is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Minnie Fryoux; her beloved husband, John B. McKinley; and her sisters, Ethel Morgan and Sr. Jean Fryoux. Survivors include her sister, June DeLaune; daughters, Michael McKinley, DeEtte Quinn and husband, Hilory; grandchildren, JT Johnson and fiancé, Annette Navarrette, Rene DeRita, Lee Quinn and wife, Jennifer, and Kate Quinn; great grandchildren, Heather Binyon, Lilah Quinn, Jules Quinn, Lucas Viel, Lily Viel; most dear family friend, Carolyn Hinton and loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society .
