BILLY JOE MCKINNEY

Funeral services for Billy Joe McKinney, 79, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 
AM Saturday, January 7, 2012, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment will 
follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. McKinney passed away Thursday, January 05, 2012, at the Northeast LA War 
Veterans Home. He was one of the original Board Members of the Monroe Credit 
Union and was still active until his death. Mr. McKinney worked for the City 
of Monroe as manager of the Sewer Department for over 50 years. He served in 
the U. S. Army. One of his greatest enjoyments was fishing in the Yucatan.

Survivors include his wife, Betty McKinney; children, Bill McKinney and wife 
Cindy of El Dorado, AR, Denise Holliman and husband Rick of Crosby, TX, Clesi 
Neitz of Monroe, Martha Jo Reeves and husband Mike of Monroe, Merwin McKinney 
and wife Katrina of West Monroe, and adopted son, Joey McKinney of Monroe; 
nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters, Freda Kelm of 
Plainview, TX and Sue Nesbett of Burlson, TX; two brothers, Max and Mike 
McKinney of Borger, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Semmes, Keith Semmes, George Lee, Joseph Rush, James 
Lewis, and John Gill.

Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of the Sewer Department for the 
City of Monroe.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Louisiana War Veterans Home, 
6700 Hwy 165 North, Monroe, LA 71203.
