A. "Buddy" McKinney, 80, of Delhi, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Delhi with Rev. Mickey Bounds officiating.Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi.Burial will be in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery.Mr. McKinney was born on February 5, 1933 in Waverly, LA and left this life on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.He was a long time OTR commercial driver and met many friends and acquaintances over the years traveling. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delhi and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.Buddy was a mechanic with the 3585th Maintenance Squadron-Liaison stationed out of Gary Air Force Base in San Marcos, TX.Mr. McKinney is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ladell McKinney, his parents Audrey Lee and Lottie Pearl Jones McKinney; a son Audrey Byron McKinney and two siblings Don McKinney and Faye Griggs.He is survived by two children, Merrie Kay Beach and husband Johnny and Gregg McKinney all of Delhi; grandchildren, Lauren Michelle McKinney of Epps, LA, Scott Beach and wife Pamela of West Monroe, LA, Marcus McKinney of Rayville, LA, Jennifer Garner and husband Brian of Delhi, LA, Ashlyn McKinney of Monroe, LA, Justin "Boudreaux" Beach of Delhi, LA and Jacob McKinney of Monroe, LA; three great grandchildren McKenzie Lingefelt, Alli Beach and Madeline Beach; a sister-in-law Shirley McKinney of Etoile, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Marcus McKinney, Scott Beach, Justin Beach, John Levels, B. E. Pickett Jr. and Bobby Charrier.Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. George Edwards. Richard Ong, Melvin Dartlone, Charles Misita, Charles Paulette, Leslie Watson, Larry Stroud, Raymond Thomas and all of his Trucker Friends.The family wishes to express a special thank you to Crossroads Hospice staff and especially his nurse Monica Odom for the exceptional love and care she gave Buddy and his family.To leave a message of condolence to the family please visit our website at www.coxfuneral.com.
