JR. MEADOWS Graveside services for Berry C. Meadows, Jr. will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 20, 2012, at Providence Memorial Park in Lake Providence, LA. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Berry was born October 24, 1922 in Elmore County, AL and passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at his home in Monroe, LA. His survivors include wife, Arnetta Taylor Meadows, of Monroe LA; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Debbie Meadows of Lake Providence, LA; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Sonny Norred of Monroe, LA; daughter and son-in- law, Andrea and Larry Pegg of Columbus, MS; brother and sister-in-law, Robert J. and Betty Meadows of Aiken SC; sister Adna Earl Scroggins of Montgomery AL. He leaves grandchildren, Matt, Macy, Maria and Michael Meadows, Taylor and Ashley Norred, Sharon, Craig and Clint Pegg and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Berry C. Meadows; mother, Spencer J. Meadows; brother, Jack Meadows; sisters, Emogene Jones and Eloise Bridgman; son, Randy Meadows; granddaughter, Alexys Meadows. He was owner of both Meadows Concrete & Gravel Company and Meadows & Meadows Dredging Company in Lake Providence, LA. More recently he was owner/trainer of Warhawk Kennels in Monroe, LA. He was also a founding member and an active participant in the North LA Hunting Retriever Club. Berry was a Master Mason, a Shriner, a 32nd degree Mason and served in the United States Navy during WWII. While living in Lake Providence, Berry was very involved in the community. He contributed in the construction and opening of Briarfield Academy and was instrumental in the organization of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was also a supporter of the Lake Providence High School Quarterback Club and the East Carroll Parish Little League baseball program. Berry was a kind and generous man who never met a stranger, never forgot a face and was a master storyteller. Berry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
