STEVE WAYNE MERCER

Riser Funeral Home - Columbia, LA

Services for Steve Wayne Mercer, age 65, of Holum formerly of Granbury, TX 
will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 7, 2006 from the Holum Baptist 
Church with Rev. Jimmy Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in the 
church cemetery.
Mr. Mercer was born on October 8, 1940 in New Albany, MS to the union of S.B. 
and Hermie Stanford Mercer and died, Saturday, February 4, 2006 at his 
residence.
He traveled the eastern half of the United States during his employment as a 
Technical Writer. He enjoyed the travel, however his greatest passion was 
fishing. He was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church in Ripley, MS and 
attended Holum Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict 
having served in the Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Bassett Knight Mercer of Holum; two 
daughters, Joelle Bogosta of Citrus Springs, FL and Shannon Gamble of 
Texarkana, TX; one stepson, Jack L. Knight of Lincoln, NE; one stepdaughter, 
SMSgt Theresa Priddy of Pensacola, FL; four grandsons; five granddaughters and 
his constant companion during his illness, Stormy, the cat.
Pallbearers will be Terry Johnson, Eddie Dunn, Berl Braddock, Benny Warner, 
Ben Clark and Kurtis Volentine.
Ricky Fussell will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Holum Baptist New 
Life Center.
