MEREDITH Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe, Louisiana Funeral services for Mr. Marquis L. Meredith, 90, of Monroe, LA will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe with Rev. Tommy Frost and Rev. David Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. Meredith was born May 19, 1919 in Monroe, LA and passed away on May 21, 2009 in Monroe, LA. He graduated from Neville High School in 1937 and then served with the U. S. Army Air Corps in the 374th Fighter Squadron during World War II. He returned to Monroe and entered Northeast Jr. College. He received his CPA License in 1951 and practiced in Monroe from 1951 until 1997. He was a member of the Louisiana Society of CPA's and the AICPA. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe. Mr. Meredith was preceded in death by his father: M. L. Meredith, II; mother: Linnie B. Meredith and brothers: Ben, Allen and Lynn Meredith. Mr. Meredith is survived by his wife of 55 years: Ethel M. Meredith; daughter: Cindy Smith and husband, Bobby; sons: Marquis L. Meredith IV and Leslie Bates, John M. Meredith, and Timothy D. Meredith and wife, Theresa; grandchildren: Niki Smith, Melanie Williams and husband, John; great grandchildren: Joshua and Stephen Williams; and sister: Jo Ann Singleton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Bobby Smith, Robert Lane, William Hardy, Robert Blackwell, Tommy Miller, Paul Tennis, and John Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be: the deacons of Parkview Baptist Church, the Byrd Bible Class, Biff Meredith, Harold Woods and Travis Edwards. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parkview Baptist Church, 1001 Forsythe Avenue, Monroe, LA 71201 or the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, May 22, 2009 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
