SHIRLEY SELF MILLER

Funeral services for Shirley Self Miller, 73, of Spearsville, LA, will be held 
at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in 
Spearsville, LA, with Rev. Barry Joyner, Rev. David Martin, and Rev. Wayne 
Sistrunk officiating. Interment will follow at Spearsville Cemetery, 
Spearsville, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.

Shirley went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2013. She was born on 
October 2, 1939, in Leesville, LA, was reared in the Fort Jesup community in 
Sabine Parish and graduated from Many High School. Shirley married Rev. James 
H. Miller on January 11, 1963, and served her Lord as a pastor's wife and a 
worker in the church for fifty years. Shirley worked in the People's State 
Bank in Zwolle, LA in her younger years. She was the secretary of Spearsville 
High School, 1971-1980, and later worked as a computer operator at the Sabine 
Medical Center in Many for seven years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Self of 
Many; and her brother, Charles Self of Shreveport, LA.

Shirley leaves behind her devoted husband of fifty years, Rev. James H. 
Miller, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Spearsville; daughter, Jan 
Rachal and husband, Joe; son, Dr. Alan Miller and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, 
Katie, Kelsie and James David Miller, Joshua Deere, Aaron and Avery Rachal.

Pallbearers will be her grandson, Joshua Deere, Stanley Lenard, Joe Barron, 
Jeff Bennett, Chris Canterberry, Scott Barron, James Frank Smith, and Frankie 
F. Futch. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Barron and Johnny Heard.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the 
First Baptist Church in Spearsville, LA.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Spearsville, 259 
Spearsville Road, Spearsville, LA 71277.
