Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Archie went to heaven on Monday, November 29th, 2010. He was born in Rayville, Louisiana April 19, 1930 the only son of Archie Newton and Laura Lizzie Miller. He also had one sister named Patsy Ruth. Archie graduated from Rayville High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana Tech University's School of Engineering in 1951. He married Willie Von Jennings of Liddieville, Louisiana in 1954. Archie was employed by Commercial Solvents Corporation in both Louisiana and Indiana. Later he joined Olin Corporation and moved the family to Illinois, and later to Florida. Archie earned the designation of Technical Writing Specialist and was a licensed member of NASD. He also worked as a Financial Planner for Waddell and Reed Inc. Returning to Louisiana in 1977 he was employed by Ford Bacon and Davis. He later founded Sun Belt Engineering and served as a consultant for Walk Hadel Corp. of New Orleans. After retirement, he earned his Commercial Real Estate Broker's License. A season ticket holder and avid Louisiana Lady Techsters fan, he took great pride in being a member of The Golden Society of Louisiana Tech. He served as a deacon in four different churches in four states. He is survived by Willie Von, his wife of fifty-six years; two sons, four grandchildren and one great grandson. Pallbearers include Archie Neal Brown III, Ralph (Buddy) Jennings, John McDonald, Tracey Weems, Brian Ticheli, Tommy Lupo, Dr. G. Brent Brown, Tom O'Neal, Cliff Dodge, and Brandon Wall. Honorary Pallbearer Richard Lupo. Visitation will be from Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Parkview Baptist Church.
