Edmund Moore and Rev. Mark Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Mrs. Minninger was born on Christmas day in 1926 and passed away Monday. March 23, 2009. She was a graduate of Anguilla High School in Mississippi and later attended Delta State College. She was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mrs. Minninger was employed by St. Francis Medical Center for the last 20 years. She formally owned and operated a Dress Shop and there made many close and lifelong friends. Mrs. Minninger was a lifelong lover of music and was still enjoying voice and piano lessons. Becoming a member of the St. Gregory Chorale Choir at Jesus the Good Shepherd helped her to accomplish her life long dream, traveling to Rome with the choir and singing in numerous Cathedrals. One of her passions was visiting Holy Places such as cathedrals and was fortunate enough to visit several throughout Europe and sing in some. Mrs. Minninger was a member of the Quota Club and a former volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center. One of her many loves was spending time strolling through her yard guiding her beloved Johnny in the placing of many plants and flowers that adorned her yard. To all who knew her she was the epitome of a true southern lady. She enjoyed the time she spent with her granddaughter, Ashley, while attending graduate school at ULM. Being a good baseball mom she spent numerous hours at the ball park watching her four boys play and her husband coach them as well as her sons coaching her grandsons. Her greatest love was time spent with her family. Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, John Minninger; children, Linda Miller and husband Tommy of Huttig, AR; Pete Minninger; David Minninger and wife Anne all of Monroe, LA; Richard Minninger and wife Cheryl of Grayson, LA; and Brad Minninger of Monroe, LA; sister, Ginny Bufkin; brother, Joe Martin both of Madison, MS; and grandchildren, Mary Ashley Miller, Matt Minninger, Bershen Minninger, Stuart Baum, Zachary Baum, and Spencer Baum. Pallbearers will be Joe Reljac, Tom Grigson, Carey Zeagler, Ed Regan, Craig Lott, and Dennis Lasuzzo. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and a Vigil Wake will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Memorials may be made to Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church or to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
