DILLARD MOORE MITCHELL Our beloved Mother passed away peacefully in the home of her daughter & son-in- law, Patricia & Jimmy Breland, with her family at her bedside. She passed away on Thursday morning, July 26, 2012, into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. She loved her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and was ready to go home. Nora was born on May 31, 1918, in Webster Parish in Hope, La., to the union of Henry Miles Dillard, Jr. & Elizabeth M. Ray Dillard. She was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church in West Monroe, La. Mrs. Mitchell ran a grocery store in the mid-fifties & early sixties. She helped many of her customers, when they did not have the money to pay. She was always a generous & loving person who touched the lives of many people. Everyone talked about her kindness to so many people. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters; husbands, James W. Moore and Charlie P. Mitchell; her beloved daughter, Shirley Jean Mitchell Donaldson; grandsons, Tommy Moore and James Moore. Survivors include her sons, W. Herman Moore (Fran) of W. Monroe, La., Hugh P. Moore (Carol) of Sidney, Ar., James R. Moore (Debra) of Columbia, La.; her daughters, Frances Parker of Monroe, La. Patricia Breland (Jimmy) of Monroe, La., Virginia Langley (Joe) of Fountain Inn, S. C.; her special cousin, Nancy Dillard of Harahan, La.; her loving dog, Angel, her constant companion for the last 6 years who brought her much comfort; and 21 Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ted "Buddy" Moore, Virgil J. Parker, Pete J. Battaglia, Jr., J. R. Moore, Jr., Randall Donaldson, Phillip Donaldson, and Ethan Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Slatten and Michael Slatten. Visitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, La. on Sunday July 29, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The funeral to celebrate her life will be at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church in W. Monroe, La. on Monday, July 30th at 10:00 AM. Rev. Charles Dupree will officiate. Interment to follow at New Chapel Hill Cemetery in W. Monroe, La. Mrs. Mitchell loved animals and asked that donations be made to any animal shelter.
