LOLA M. MONK

Funeral services for Mrs. Lola M. Monk 86, of Downsville, LA will be held at 
11:00 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, 
LA. Rev. Michael Reynolds will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn 
Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Lola was born on August 30, 1928, to James and Florine Tedeton and passed away 
peacefully with family by her side on August 12, 2015. She is preceded in death 
by her husband J.E. Monk and son Jimmy Monk, Parents James and Florine Tedeton 
and siblings Huey Tedeton, Herbert Tedeton, Nellie Strickland and Elsie Acree. 
She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and aunt and will be greatly missed by 
all who knew her. Lola wholeheartedly loved her family and constantly displayed 
a unique zest for life. Her strong personality and unwavering strength coupled 
with her caring heart made her an endearing person to be with.

She is survived by her brother, Jack Tedeton; sister, Mary Inez Jordan; and a 
host of nephews and nieces who loved her very much.

Lola loved tending to her flower gardens and especially loved quilting which 
she won numerous awards and ribbons for her hand work.

Honoring Lola as pallbearers will be her nephews Donald Jordan, Dwayne Jordan, 
Bruce Acree, Steve Tedeton, Kenny Tedeton and Jamie Tedeton. Honorary 
pallbearers will be Troy Acree, J.L. Strickland, Joel Tedeton and Craig 
Tedeton.

Visitation will held Saturday 10:00 AM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral 
Home West Monroe, LA.
