MOONEY West Monroe - Funeral services celebrating the life of Rev. James F. Mooney, 94, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Rocky Branch Assembly of God in Rocky Branch, LA, with Rev. Eugene Brown and Rev. Justin Uselton officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. Rev. Mooney was born June 15, 1923, in Keystone, LA, and passed away on September 15, 2017. He became an Ordained Minister in 1962 and was the Pastor of numerous churches in Northeast Louisiana. Rev. Mooney was the Associate Pastor at Rocky Branch Assembly of God from 1986 until 2006. He had a passion for serving people in any way that he could, he was an Artist and loved writing poems. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ethel Mooney. Survivors include his sons, Steve Mooney and wife Vickie, and David Mooney and special friend Penni Guidry; daughter-in-law, Theresa Mooney; grandchildren, Amy Mooney, Jennifer Bell and husband Spencer, Allison Eskine and husband Barron, and Ryan Mooney and wife Shauna; great grandchildren, Makenna Bell, Kerrigan Bell and Caleb Lee Eskine; and brother, Ted Mooney and wife Betty. Pallbearers will be Ricky Mayes, Fred Norrell, Ray Aiken, James Anders, Bo Fuller, and T. Ryan Mooney. Visitation will be held from 5:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, September 18, 2017, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. The family would like to give special thanks to special friends, Dale and Kaye Smith, and Benji and Annie Hobson for their kindness shown throughout the years. Memorials may be made to the Gideons International.
