Interment will be immediately following at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mrs. Moore was born December 23, 1929 and went to be with our Lord on Monday, August 10, 2009. Maycele, a devoted Christian and longtime resident of West Monroe, attended her loving place of worship, Highland Baptist Church. She faithfully attended and loved her Sunday School class, Kim Neese Ladies I. She also enjoyed the fellowship of her many close friends of the Red Hat Society and the Golden Age Club. Upon moving to Chauvin Pointe Retirement Community in Monroe, Maycele found many new and special friends where she attended bible worship and numerous activities at the community center. She loved this community of people and was always available to any who needed her. Maycele lived to serve the Lord while devoting her love to all her family members. She always had a bright smile with a twinkle in her eye, a soft hug and a compassionate heart for all her family and friends. Words cannot say how great our loss will be but our comfort is in the knowledge that "Mom" is at home where she longed to be in Heaven with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and with the love of her life, our Father, "Butch". Mom was a "people person". She loved meeting and visiting people and always took time to talk. She was retired from the City of Monroe Credit Union. This was where she really shined with her people skills. Everyone that came through the doors would get a greeting or her wonderful advice. This was another of her many gifts that will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Maycele is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee "Butch" Moore, a retired plumber in West Monroe; their son, Roger Dale Moore; two sisters, Mamie Smith and Helen Christie; and two brothers, Johnnie Aldrich and Luther Aldrich. She is survived by her two children, Janice Lee Powell and husband Richard and Terry Lee Moore and wife Lisa all of Monroe; grandsons, Ryan Powell and wife Jamie of Houston, TX, Wes Tichenor and wife Jackie of West Monroe, LA, and Stuart Tichenor and wife Jennifer of Alexandria, LA; four great grand children, Gracie and Wesley Tichenor, James Madison Tichenor, Will Powell; her newest Powell arrival due in March; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Whitney Alger, Terry Cox, Burt Martin, Ryan Powell, Scott Tullis, and Jimmy Richardson. Honorary pallbearer will be her longtime neighbor and friend, Buddy Oglesbee. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Special thanks and love is given to all her many friends and neighbors of Chauvin Pointe Retirement Community, Highland Baptist Church and her Red Hat Society. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Highland Baptist Church of West Monroe, LA.
