MOORE Funeral services for Mr. James E. Moore age 92 of West Monroe and formerly of Columbia will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday September 9, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Evangelist Billy Dickinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. James Edgar Moore was born on July 9, 1923 at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents James Albert Moore and Stella Elizabeth Bonnett Moore and he passed from this life on September 7, 2015 at his residence in West Monroe.He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Nora Cockerham Moore, his son: Robert Whitman, and a host of brothers and sisters as he was one of eleven siblings. Mr. Moore was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II in Pattons Army and in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Moore was a member of the Claiborne Church of Christ and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He himself was a Master Carpenter. Left to cherish his memory his wife: Faye Whitman Moore of West Monroe, two sons: Kenny Moore (Zelda) of Columbia and John Graham (Janiece) of Fort Worth, TX; two daughters: Elizabeth Wilkes and Pam Whitman both of West Monroe; and two sisters: Miriam Carr and Macy Thompson both of West Monroe; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Those serving as pallbearers will be Bracie Smith, Dwayne Snow, Johnnie Hollis, Todd Risinger, Tommy Freeland, and Royce Garman.
