Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe. Mrs. Morgan passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Stoneybrook Alzheimer Care Assisted Living in West Monroe. Mrs. Morgan was born in Doddsville, MS, on July 20, 1933. She married Dr. Frank Morgan, Jr., on June 1, 1953, at Linn Baptist Church in Linn, MS. She attended the Linn School for Nurses Training in Jackson, MS; Mississippi College in Clinton, MS; and NLU of Monroe, graduating with a BS in English in 1970 from NLU. When she moved to Monroe, LA, she worked as a homemaker and mother and with the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home. She was a member of the NLU Women's Club; she was a past president of the PEO Chapter AZ; and she was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frank Morgan, Jr.; parents, Mozelle R. and Austin E. Hood. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Brett Green; grandchildren, Zachary M. Coco; Jory R. Green; and Abby L. Green; sister, Sue Poates and husband Dan; twin sister, Ruth Gann; and nieces and nephews, Robert D. Spencer; Charlotte Medina; Beverly Nelson; Walter Poates; Patsy Thomas and Joe Austin Poates. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe. Pallbearers will be Robert D. Spencer, Dale Couchman, G. Gregory Green, Heston Thomas, Patrick Nelson, Jacob Brogden, Tyler Jones, and Don Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be John Medina and Joe Austin Poates. She will be greatly missed as a mother and grandmother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , P. O. Box 2471, Monroe, LA 71207.
