Loyce Elaine Fallin Morgan was born on February 6, 1924 and left her earthly home for her heavenly home on August 13, 2015 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Samuel Morgan; her mother, Daisy Mae Fallin; her father, Benjamin Franklin Fallin; four of her brothers; Wayne Fallin, Joe Fallin, Jack Fallin, Howard Fallin, and two of her sisters; Eva Dell Fallin Henry, and Lucille Fallin Dring. Loyce is survived by two sons; James Gregory Morgan and wife Jan of Dallas, Texas; Kenneth Wayne Morgan and wife Rhonda of Pensacola, Florida; and one daughter; Melinda Gail Morgan McMahone and husband Don of Ruston, Louisiana. "Mamaw" is survived by the "joys of her life", her grandchildren; Molly McMahone Stone, and husband, Brandon of Montgomery, Alabama; Lauren Morgan of Dallas, Texas; Colby Morgan of Dallas, Texas; Meagan McMahone Jenkins and husband, Dustin of Lexington, South Carolina; Emily Morgan of Pensacola, Florida; and Lawrence Lane of Pensacola, Florida. Loyce was also blessed to live long enough to know and love her 3 great-granddaughters; Audrey Melinda Stone, Anna Morgan Stone, and Charlotte (Lottie) Gail Jenkins. Loyce is also survived by one brother, James Fallin; and one sister, Lettie Fallin Canterbury, and many nieces and nephews who loved their "Aunt Loyce". Loyce was born in Gansville, Louisiana and as a small child moved with her family to the beautiful hilly countryside of Lincoln Parish. She attended St. Rest Baptist Church and gave her life to Christ as an adolescent. After graduation from Ruston High School she moved to Shreveport, Louisiana and worked as a telephone operator. At the end of World War II she married her sweetheart, Sam, and joined him as they began their military life together. During their time of service in the U.S. Marines, they made homes for their growing family in Florida, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. After Sam's retirement from the Marines in 1960, he and Loyce settled in Minden, Louisiana where they lived until moving to Ruston in 2008. Loyce was one of the earliest members of the newly established Emmanuel Baptist Church in Minden. She loved deeply studying and uncovering the Truths of God's Word, and shared her gift of teaching in ladies Sunday school class for over 40 years. She was a faithful choir member, and served on numerous committees. She always enjoyed teaching children in Vacation Bible School, and did so long after her own children were grown. She had a love of missions and served as WMU director. Loyce loved to read, cook, sew, and travel anywhere, near or far, to experience something new and different. She found joy in all things, great and small. Mostly, Loyce was a lover of people. She took any opportunity to meet and greet new friends, neighbors, and church members, most of the time with something delicious from her kitchen. She loved to feed people, and was happiest when she was cooking for her family or friends and had them all around her table. Our family will cherish the priceless memories we have of Mom and Mamaw as she loved us by nourishing us - not only with food - but with wisdom, helpfulness, concern, and lots of laughter and silliness. She gave of herself freely, sacrificed much, and prayed continually for all of us. We are so deeply grateful for Mom's caregivers: Mrs. Ketha Morrow, Mrs. Betty Coggins, and Mrs. Carolyn Beal. You are our angels. We are so thankful, as well, for her very attentive physician, Dr. Benson Grigsby, and his wonderful caring staff. The family wishes for any memorials given in honor of Loyce to be offered to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , Life Choices of Ruston, LA, or First Baptist Church of Ruston's Children's Building Fund. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Monday August 17, 2015 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
