MORRIS Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA Services for Mr. Joe L. Morris, 82, of Rayville, LA will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ralph Cheek officiating, internment to follow in Greer Cemetery near Rayville, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home - Rayville, LA Mr. Morris was born November 28, 1926 in Rayville and passed away May 15, 2009 also in Rayville, LA. After serving his country in the U. S. Navy, Joe went to work for the soil conservation service for many years, When he left the SCS, he worked for Planters Feed and until his retirement. During this time he also did boat and gun repair for everyone in the community. Joe's passion was hunting and fishing and you could call him just about any time and he could tell you where the fish were biting. Mr. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Elber Morris and Essie Cobb Morris, a sister Elsie Greer, two brothers, Elber Morris, Jr. and Bill Morris, and a son Ronnie Morris. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Maggie L. Freeland Morris of Rayville, LA; two sons, Larry D. Morris and his wife Coleen of Rayville, LA and Richard L. Morris and his wife Kathy of Winnsboro, LA; one brother Huey Morris and his wife Sue; seven grandchildren, Randie Paige Jackson, Ron Morris, Kylie Morris, Joseph Morris, Larry Joe Morris and his wife Tracy, Olivia Woods and her husband John and Gina Ezell and her husband Stephen; five great grandchildren Ashton Jackson, Marigrace and Cole Morris, Dylan Ezell and Valerie Woods. Pallbearers will be, Don Cumpton, Mike Adcock, Benny Love, Jerry Copeland, Jimmy Dale Greer and Charles Lee Greer. Honorary Pallbearers are Burgess Cumpton, Benn Love, Elmo Wynn and Denny Love. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
