Joseph Puthuppally and Rev. Richard Norsworthy officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Mr. Morrison passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 16, 2016. He was born on July 21, 1929. Dick Morrison served in the United States Army, Guided Missile Battery, Fort Bliss, Texas. He will be well remembered around Monroe as "Mister Bakers Shoes" by almost any woman in Monroe. Among his many accomplishments, and in addition to some 40 years with Edison Brothers (Bakers), Dick also was co-owner of the first diaper service in Monroe, Baby's Own Diaper Service. He also made and sold wood working goods and products under the name of "Wooden Stuff". He was also well known for his singing and barbershop quartet performances around the state. Dick was preceded in death by Rita Scalia Morrison, his wife of 60 years; his parents; brother, Barry; brothers-in-law, Bob Powell and Ed Cady; brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Rosalie Scalia Tucker; sister-in-law, Jo Ann LaMonica Scalia. He is survived by his daughters, Lia Cannon (Ed), Kathy Hewitt (Jimmy), Mari Bordelon (Sonny), and Kelly Castell (Brent); brother, Jim Morrison (Fran); sisters, Barbara Powell and Dorothy Cady; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Marilou Scalia and J. C. and Barbara Scalia; brother-in-law, Roy Scalia; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday, May 18, 2016, with a Vigil Wake at 6:00PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
