Will Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Mulhern was born March 1, 1921, in Monroe, daughter of Mike John, Sr. and Beatrice Olive Morrison and passed away August 5,2010, at The Oaks Nursing Home in Monroe. She graduated from Louisiana Tech with a degree in accounting and worked for several years as bookkeeper for H. Michael Dry Goods. Jerry married Earl Mulhern on December 3, 1943, and spent most of her life as a homemaker; loved cooking and was a wonderful cook. Her family was her life. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church; very active in church during the earlier years of her life. Mrs. Mulhern was pre-deceased by: her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike John, Sr.; brothers, Mike John, Jr. and Raymond John; her husband, Earl Mulhern; and son, Ray Mulhern. Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Richard and Martha Mulhern of Baytown, TX; granddaughters, Cindy Mills of Bristol, CT and Jessica Mulhern of Baytown, TX; daughter-in-law, Pauline Mulhern of Whitehouse, TX; nieces, Libby Anders of Monroe, Gwen Yerger of Lenoir City, TN, Gail Berry of Braxton, MS, and Pam Alexander of Lake Charles; nephews, Dr. Howard John of Monroe, Bill John of Monroe, Richard John of Clinton, MS, Pete Mulhern, Jr. of Rayville, Pat Mulhern of Shoreacres, TX, Jim Mulhern of Monroe, and Mike Fox of Columbus, IN. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 10, 2010, from 10:00 AM until service time at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel. The family would like to offer special thanks to the following people for their help in caring for Jerry: Nita Jarrell, Felton & Betty Vickers, Libby Anders, and the staff of The Oaks Nursing Home.
