Caldwell Watchman
Mr. R. L. McDaniel, age 80 died July 15, 1988 at North Monroe Community 
Hospital.  Services held July 17; They were led by Rev. John Vining at Riser 
Funeral Home Chapel; Burial in McDaniel Cemetery near Kelly, La.; Born 12/24/07 
in Caldwell Parish; Member of 1st Methodist Church of Columbia.
Survivors: wife, Sadie Hillard McDaniel-Columbia, son, Thomas Ray McDaniel, Sr.
-Bossier City, La., dtr., Elizabeth Ann McDaniel Daniels of Albuquerque, N.M. 
along with 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Willie Gibson, Clayton Starling, Lee Brown, Billy Mangham, Gerry
Mangham, J. D. Hilliard.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Dr. W. M. Causey, Buddy 
Williams, E. B. Rogers, Junior Hefner, Manford Stuart and Thomas Speight.

Additional Comments:
In the obituary it also states he had 6 grandchildren and then listed them THEN
it states he has 7 grandchildren.  This is a mis-print in the paper. As I have 
typed above, he had 7 GREAT-grandchildren. He was a retired merchant. Although
blind, he had owned and operated a very small merchantile next to his home in 
Columbia Heights (just up the hill from Columbia, La.)
