From: The Monroe News-Star Date: May 6, 1977 Headline: Maud Hampton Funeral services for Maud Hampton, 79 of 508 S. First St., Monroe, were held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Monroe with the Rev. Torris Eldridge officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hampton died Thursday at Shady Oaks Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and she was a member of the Missouri Pacific Women's club of Monroe. Survivors include her husband, Oscar Hampton, Sr., of Monroe; three sons, J. W. Bubnich of Mer Rouge, W. M. Bubnich and Oscar Hampton, Jr., both of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Bill Ferguson of Monroe and Mrs. Robert Burton of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Arizona Boyd and Ella McBroom, both of Monroe; two brothers, Ervin McBroom, Monroe, and Esbin McBroom, Baytown, Tex.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Lawrence Ferguson, Douglas Ferguson, Mitchell Hampton, Norwood Christianson, Fred Lindsey, A. E. Gossett. (NOTE: Maude was born April 6, 1898, in Urania, LA to William Columbus and Ella May WILSON MCBROOM. She was previously married to Joseph Bubnich on September 3, 1916, in Urania, LA.) # # #
