Mulhearn, Sr., 58, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 4, 2000, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Tim Hurd officiating. Burial will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Pete died September 1, 2000, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. He was president of the Mulhearn Protective Insurance Co., and secretary/treasurer of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Flower Shops and Memorial Park Cemetery, a past president of the Louisiana Insurers Conference, member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, and the North La. Funeral Directors Association, Monroe Jaycees and was the executive director of the Miss Louisiana Pageant in 1970. He was a graduate of the University of Louisiana-Monroe and a member of the Athletic Booster Club. He was also a member of various equine organizations. Although everyone knows how great Pete's devotion was to his family and business, his true love and passion was raising his horses. He is survived by wife, Annette R. Mulhearn; son, Peter G. "Butch" Mulhearn, Jr. and his wife, Laine; daughter, Shelly M. Crow and her husband, Bud; stepdaughter, Monica Rayner and her husband, Tom; grandchildren, Will and Josh Crow, Sarah Mulhearn, Brooke, Kristi and Chase Smith and Neville Whitaker; brothers, Thomas H. Mulhearn, Jr. and his wife, Peggy, and Joseph E. Mulhearn, Sr., his wife, Nancy; sister, Barbara M. McKenzie and her husband, Harry; a special nephew, T. M. "Mike" Mulhearn, Sr. and his wife, Cathy, and their son, Michael; and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Pallbearers will be Ron Davies, Joe Davis, Kerry Gordy, Jack Taylor, Larry Norris, and Bill Pippen. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Mulhearn Corporation. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Vigil Wake Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
