Isaiah 40:31" Robert Edward Neal, 66 of West Monroe passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009. Mr. Neal was born in Fort Huachuca, Arizona where his late father was stationed in 1942. He was the son of the late R. E. and Myrtle Fulgham Neal, graduated from Lake Providence High School and earned his B.S. in Agri- Business from Northeast Louisiana University (ULM). He retired from State Farm Companies as Senior Commercial Underwriter in 2005 with 37 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, West Monroe and the Frank Hoffman Life Group. For many years he and his family lived in Monroe and were members of North Monroe Baptist Church where they were active members. They have cherished all their many friends who have been so supportive during his lengthy illness. Robert was known for his love of people evident by his contagious smile and playful sense of humor. He loved golf, football and other sports, and took pride in introducing several friends and family members to golf. He and his wife, Katherine French Neal recently celebrated 43 years of marriage; enjoyed travel, especially their many cruises and their annual visit with their children and grandchildren to Destin, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gene E. Neal. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two daughters, Stephanie Sikes and husband, Mark and Stacey Kammer and husband, Pete; grandchildren, Anna Katherine and Alex Neal Sikes, Joseph Michael, Harrison Neal and Carleigh Anne Kammer; three sisters, Beth Falls and Jim, Kathryn Lee and Donald, and Julia Severy and Steve; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers are George Abbott, Jim Barry, Jim Falls, Jim Gray, Robert M. Heflin, Robert Charles Payne, Charles Standifer and Jamie Wilhite. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Lee, Reynold Minsky, Jimmy Knight, Curt Sibille, Steve Severy, Reubin Simmons and members of the Frank Hoffman Life Group. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, First Baptist Church, 500 Pine Street, West Monroe with Rev. Dwight Munn and Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe and from 9:00 AM until time of service at the Church. The family expresses sincere appreciation to all the doctors and members of the medical community who were so attentive to Mr. Neal.
