Youngs Community Memorial Funeral Home

Winnsboro, LA

Funeral services for Opal Dickerson Nelson, 88, of Winnsboro, LA will be held 
at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 
11:00 AM with Rev. William Busby and Rev. Jason Foster officiating. Interment 
will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young's 
Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Opal Nelson was born February 19, 1920 in MS and passed away Sunday February 
01, 2009 at Cornerstone Hospital, West Monroe. She was a resident of 
Winnsboro, a School Cafeteria Manager, and a member of the Temple Baptist 
Church.

She was preceded in Death by: her husband J. P. Nelson, father Henry 
Dickerson, mother Lilly (Garvin) Dickerson, brother Herman Dickerson and 
sister Gertrude Lishman.

Her survivors include: A son John Nelson, Jr. and wife Jannie of Centrville, 
MS; daughter Evelyn Ballard and husband Don of West Monroe, LA; 2 sisters 
Jewell Long of Hopkinsville, KY, Lilly (Tugar) Kline of Mangham, LA; 2 
Grandchildren Don Ballard Jr. and Robert Ballard; 2 Great grand children Buck 
Ballard and Reva Ballard and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Home Care Resources, Dr. 
Marshal Sanson, Dr. Roger Smith, Cornerstone Hospital, Ann Busby Russell, Aunt 
Tugar Kline, and Sarah Sikes for the wonderful kindness and care of Mother.

The family will receive friends at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home 
from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2009.
