BILLY RAY NELSON

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray Nelson of Monroe, La will be 2:00pm 
Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe 
with Rev. Paul Solice and Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow 
at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun under the direction of Griffin Funeral 
Home. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 9:00 pm Friday, January 30, 2015 at 
the funeral home.

Mr. Nelson was born August 19, 1940 in Carbon Hill, Al and passed from this 
life on January 27, 2015 in Monroe, La at the age of 74.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Jackson Nelson & Maude Blackwell 
Nelson and his late wife, Jane Nelson.

Survivors include his wife Jeanice Nelson; nine children & step-children, Alan 
Nelson & wife Sherri, Donna Nelson, Randy Nelson, Melinda Bullock & husband 
Curt, Kathy Nelson, Rebbecca Reeves, Donyala Carter & fiancé Clint Kitchens, 
David Anderson & wife Becca and Mark Anderson & fiancé Kelli Kestner; two 
brothers, Lavene Nelson & wife Barbara and Harold Nelson; one sister, Carolyn 
Herron & husband Morrace; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host 
nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Richard Tremaine, Caleb Lucas, Clint Kitchens, David 
Anderson, Mark Anderson, and Eddie Avant.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Dickey and Harvey "Scooter" Goleman.
