Her husband of 65 years, Chester A. Nenney, Jr., died May 30. They grew up eight blocks apart and met in high school. We envision a sweet and tender reunion. Willine Watson Boxley, was born Nov. 12, 1917 in Monroe, La. She was known as "one of the prettiest girls in Monroe". She graduated from Northeast La. Junior College. Mother's group of dear school friends weathered the Great Depression and World War II and remained close throughout their lives. Mother had lived in one town and one house all her young life. On March 24, 1944 Willine married Chester, a B-17 pilot home from the war in Europe. As the wife of a petroleum engineer, she learned to pack, moving her family to Lumberton, MS., Monroe, Houston, Lafayette, Liberal, KS., and back to Houston. Wherever she and Chester were they made a home and many good friends. She filled a traditional lifelong role as wife and mother with flair and fun. Mother is remembered for her sweet, quiet nature, her ageless beauty and her love of family and friends. Her parents were William Wilson Boxley and Georgie Watson Boxley. She leaves her daughter Susan Nenney and son-in-law Louis Parks. The family thanks LaShonda Edwards, Gretel Vassel, especially Ernestine Dickerson and the Red Team at Houston Hospice for their thoughtful, loving care and kindness. A private memorial service will be held later in Monroe. The family suggests a contribution to St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, 8915 Timberside Dr., Houston, 77025 or Houston Hospice, 1902 Holcombe, 77030.
