MR. JAMES V. NEWBURN

Private services for Mr. James V. Newburn, 79, West Monroe, were held Friday, 
November 21, 1997 at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Memorial 
services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 23, 1997 at Highland 
Presbyterian Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. G. Preston Brown officiating 
under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Newburn 
died Friday, November 21, 1997 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Mr. 
Newburn was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church in West Monroe, La. 
He was the advertising and display manager with the Palace Department Store 
for many years. He also was with Howard Bros. Discount Store in advertising 
and marketing department for several years. He was an Army Veteran of World 
War II. Mr. Newburn was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Phyllis J. 
Newburn. Survivors include his brother: Miles Newburn of San Antonio, sister-
in-law, Geneva Weir of Monroe, LA; nephew: Ron Weir of Johnson City, TN.
