Memorial Services for Mr. James Weston (Jim) Newell, Sr, 69, of West Monroe, 
LA will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Jackson Street 
Church of Christ with Mr. Don Delukie officiating under the direction of 
Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Newell was born on March 4, 1940 in Alexandria, LA and passed away on July 
8, 2009 at his residence in West Monroe, LA. He was a member of the Jackson 
Street Church of Christ in Monroe, LA. Mr. Newell attended Louisiana State 
University, where he played on the 58 and 59 Football Teams that played in the 
Sugar Bowl. He graduated from Louisiana College with a degree in mathematics. 
Mr. Newell had many hobbies that included dogs, sports, hunting, cooking, and 
music.

Survivors include his children, James Weston "Bucky" Newell Jr., wife Brenda 
and their son, Josh, Kenneth Victor Newell and his children, Ashley, Courtney, 
Landrie and Logan, Mavi Newell Dean and her daughters, Madison and Meredith; 
sisters, Linda Newell Watson and Connie Newell Dyer and a host of nieces and 
nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until service time at Jackson Street Church 
of Christ.

Memorials may be made to the Jackson Street Church of Christ.
