SONNY NEWMAN

A celebration of life for Mr. Sonny Newman of West Monroe, LA will be from 
5:00pm until 7:00pm Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Hampton Inn & Suites 5100 
Frontage Rd. Monroe, LA.

Mr. Sonny was born November 13, 1949 in Bossier City, LA. After a long 
illness, he passed away peacefully surrounded by those who love him on 
November 6, 2016 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 66.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Mitchell Newman and his parents, 
Otha and Annie Newman.

Survivors include his children, Molly Simmons and husband Bill of Monroe, 
Paula Clark and fiancé Tim Anderson of California, Stephanie Ardoin and 
husband Todd of Youngsville and Stacy Osbon and husband James of Brandon, 
MS; three sisters, Martha Sullivan and husband Buddy and Mildred Rodrigues 
and husband Spud all of West Monroe, and Sandra Newman of Ruston; He was 
also survived by eight grandchildren - Heather, Brittan, Kathryn, Joshua, 
Ethan, Jude, Victoria, and Nicholas. He was also blessed to have one great 
grandchild, Cooper. A host of extended family and friends also join in 
celebrating his life.

Sonny was a retired Marine that served his country in the Vietnam War where 
he was permanently disabled. In lieu of flowers, his daughters are 
requesting donations to The Wounded Warrior Project.
