ELMER E. NEWSOM

Funeral services for Elmer E. Newsom will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, May 
17, 2017 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. James 
Bridge Water, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's 
Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Mr. Newsom was born February 5, 1943 in Monroe, LA and passed away May 14, 
2017 in West Monroe, LA. He was retired from the United States Air Force. 
Mr. Newsom was a member of DAV, DAVA, Masons, Shriners, VFW. He was preceded 
in death by his parents, Eugene and Elsie Newsom and a sister, Ella 
Willingham.

Mr. Newsom is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Theresa Shelander and 
husband Bruce, Allison Newsom, and April Newsom; sons, Andrew Newsom, and 
Roy Bullard Jr. and wife Ali; sisters, Edna Chisholm, Millie King and 
husband James; brothers, Floyd Newsom and Frankie Newsom; a grandson, Bruce 
Shelander, Jr. and 5 other grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Shelander, Sr., Bruce Shelander, Jr., Steve Kelly, 
Donald Pickel, Matthew Pickel and David Crippen.

A special thanks to his personal caregiver of 9 years, Ella Griggs, and also 
Stephanie and Jeff with Medi Star Home Health.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at 
Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
