LESTER W. NICHOLS

Funeral services for Mr. Lester W. Nichols, 82, will be 1:00 PM Thursday at 
Feazel Chapel of First West with the Rev. Woods Watson officiating. Interment 
will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery Rayville under the direction of Griffin 
Funeral Home.

Mr. Nichols was born on August 11, 1930 in Raymond, MS to the union of John and 
Mildred Hammett Nichols and passed from this life on Monday February 11, 2013 
at Glenwood Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was a resident of West Monroe and a native of Rayville, a retired insurance 
appraiser, a member of First Baptist Church West Monroe and the Soul Seekers 
Sunday School Class. He had a passion and heart for helping others and served 
as a lay minister having services at local nursing homes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Brenda Barnette and a sister 
Shirley Jean Carroll.

Devoted husband of Dorothy S. Nichols; Beloved Father of Rebecca McDaniel, Tina 
Louise Nichols, Joel W. Nichols and Pamela Kay Head; his sister Christelle 
Futch; also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, host of nieces 
and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael McDaniel, John Barnette, Chuck Head, Michael 
Baldwin, Ricky Futch and Marvis Coleman.

Members of his Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials preferred to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.

Visitation for friends will be Thursday after 11:00 AM until time of service.
