Nolan, 87, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, with Rev. Larry Linson officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home-Monroe. Mr. Nolan was born February 18, 1924 in Monroe, LA, and passed away May 14, 2011 in Monroe, LA. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Nolan was retired owner of Nolan and Nolan Trucking in Monroe. Mr. Nolan was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, American Legion and Woodman of the World. Mr. Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, Art Nolan and Lula Killcrease Nolan, two sisters and five brothers. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Lilly Nolan, children, Ronnie Nolan and wife Pat, Beverly Caldwell, and Bartley Nolan and wife Tommie; ten grandchildren, Lori Hale and husband Scott, Allison Roberts and husband Spencer, Josh Nolan, Randy Bentz and wife Tiffanie, Melanie Bentz Powell and husband Ben, Holly Frey, Sarah Kountz, Nathan Nolan, Brandon Nolan and Coy Nolan; eleven great grandchildren, Hunter Bentz, Lily Hart, Emma-Kayte Roberts, Daion Hale, Garrett Hale, Nolan Bentz, Tanner Bentz, Reed Roberts, Sylvia Powell, Nixon Sanders and Harry Powell; he is also survived by his brother, Rev. Garlon "Pete" Nolan and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randy Bentz, Josh Nolan, Hunter Bentz, Nathan Nolan, Spencer Roberts, Scott Hale and Rusty Hodge. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home-1200 Lamy Lane, Monroe, LA.
