Bobby was the youngest child born to his mother and father, John and Mattie Jane Nolan on May 19, 1930 and departed this earth to be with his heavenly father on 20th day of January. Bobby died peacefully at his home in Cross Roads surrounded by his family. He was 83. The family will be receiving friends at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville on January 21, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Graveside services will be held on January 22, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Bobby was born in Farmerville. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and he and his family lived in many wonderful places around the globe. He retired a USAF MSGT and chose to retire in Farmerville. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and has been a Master Mason in Farmerville for over fifty years. In addition to his parents, Bobby is predeceased by his son William Andrew Nolan, his granddaughter Amy LaShay Nolan, his brothers, John Nolan Jr., Guy Dillard Nolan, Wilbur Ernest Nolan, and his sister Euna Nolan Silmon. Bobby is survived by his wife of sixty four years Barbara Laster Nolan, son Kenneth Nolan and his wife Karen of Farmerville, Brenda Thomason and her husband David of Monroe, Ann Easterling and her husband Mickey of West Monroe, Sandy Smith and her husband Tim of Sterlington, grandsons Matt Nolan of Columbia, Erik Nolan and wife Haley and great grandson Trip of Sterlington, granddaughter Kelsey Nolan Stanley and her husband Josh of Ruston, Kali Smith of Sterlington, Charlotte Harrison of Farmerville, Chris Gandy of Farmerville, Ben Thomason of Durham North Carolina, his sister Melba Roberson of Farmerville, several cousins , nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Terry King and Dr. Noel Mills who gave them numerous additional years with Bobby. They would also like to thank Dr. David Raines and Dr. Ron Hammett who were care givers throughout his life. They also very much appreciate Dr. Mark Dollar, Dr. Coy Gammage, nurse practitioners Lana Heath and Michael Brown, his hospice care givers and Dr. John Sheppard for the special and generous care they provided in his final days. Bobby adored his family and was always eager to help them reach their goals. He was admired for his meticulous attention to details. In later years you could always count on him to have a snack bag with Twinkies ready for whoever needed it. He was kind and generous and will be greatly missed.
