Warren Eckhart officiating. Interment follows in the Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Born in McCrory, Arkansas, to the late Clyde and Nannie Ramsey Gamel, Mrs. Nordman was a graduate of the University of Arkansas Medical School Nursing Program. Caring for others and nursing began early in her life while taking care of her grandmother. She retired from E.A. Conway Hospital after 27 years of service, was employed 10 years at North Monroe Hospital, and finished her career at Richland Parish Guest Home. A member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church, she was also a member of the Louisiana Board of Certified Registered Nurses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne M. Nordman, Sr.; a sister, Laura Herbert; and 3 brothers, C.E. "Clyde," Clifford, and Charles Gamel. Survivors include her daughter, Jana Johnson and husband, Wayne; 2 sons, Wayne M. Nordman, Jr. and wife, Linda, and Dr. David Nordman and wife, Ellen; adopted children, Paul Frizell and wife, Barbie; and Dawn Ellen Brown; 5 sisters, Hildred Simmons, Johnnie Mae Stripling, Lynda Wiggins, Mary Smith, and Freda Natriello; sisters-in-law, Viola Gamel, Norma Lauderdale and husband, Ed, and Jean Nordman; and brother-in-law, Lester Nordman; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Active pallbearers include Chris and Greg Colvin, Josh, Trey, and Kyle Nordman, John Odom, Russ Allen, Dr. Donald Garrett, and Travis Simmons. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Kerry Anders, Jimmy Taylor, Mike McCleish, Randy Watson and Col. Bruce Harrison, US Army (ret). Family requests memorials be made in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research. The family would like say a special thank you to the staff at Ouachita Health Care and Rehab Center and Dr. Kerry Anders and his staff for providing many years of special care and friendship.
