Graveside service will be at 4:00 PM Friday in the Farmerville City Cemetery, Farmerville, LA. Mrs. Norris was born on February 11, 1923 in Farmerville, LA and passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Bertha Tarbutton Moore; son, John Porter Norris, Jr.; two sisters, Hazel Fleming and Helen Cloud; and two brothers, Robert H. Moore and Charles S. Moore. Mrs. Norris retired from the University of Louisiana Monroe, having served as an administrative assistant in both the Math and English Departments. She was a member of Church of God, West Monroe and the China Painting Guild of Monroe. Survivors include her husband, John Porter Norris; one daughter, Donna Payne and husband Robert Charles Payne, Sr.; three grandchildren, Robert Charles Payne, Jr., Andrew Beck Payne and wife Jodi Payne, and Laurie Devone Payne; five great grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Payne, Gracen Hope Payne, Addelyn Faith Payne, Hutson Beck Payne, and Kendall Beck Ford; three sisters, Elva Lois Jean, Mildred Abrams, Betty Cornett; one brother, John R. Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2012, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Kaye South for her loving devotion to Mrs. Norris during her lengthy illness.
