CARL NUGENT

Funeral services for Carl Nugent, age 75 of Duty Ferry, LA, will be held at 2 
PM Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from the chapel of Riser Funeral in Columbia with 
Bro. Kent Nugent, Bro. John Flemming and Bro. Charles Robertson officiating. 
Interment will follow at Sandy Bayou Cemetery, east of Columbia.

Visitation will be Monday evening, December 31, 2012 at Riser Funeral Home in 
Columbia from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Mr. Nugent was born on November 10, 1937 in Rochelle, LA to the union of Doyle 
and Nellie Mae Ford Nugent and passed to his Heavenly home on Saturday, 
December 29, 2012 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of 
Sandy Bayou Baptist Church. Carl was an avid hunter of deer and squirrel and 
enjoyed fishing for catfish and gardening. He was a loving husband, father and 
grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, James Morris Nugent.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Nancy Beckley 
Nugent of Duty Ferry; son, Kent Nugent and wife, Tammie of Duty Ferry; 
daughters: Shana Townsend and husband, Richard of Enterprise and Terry 
McDougald and husband, Chester of Duty Ferry; brothers: Danny Nugent of Duty 
Ferry and Ken Nugent and wife, Darlene of Calhoun; sisters: Barbara Thompson 
of Jena, Brenda Fluitt and husband, Roddy of Hebert and Cheryl Sanders of 
Columbia; grandchildren: Lee Townsend, Tyler Townsend, Stephen Townsend, Sara 
McDougald, Britanny Nugent, Shelby Nugent and Carri Nugent; great-
grandchildren: Karlie Townsend, Jaron Townsend, James Townsend and Andrew 
Townsend; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Chester McDougald, Richard Townsend, Lee Townsend, Tyler 
Townsend, Stephen Townsend, Steve Brisco, Wayne Prudhomme and Lester Cruse. 
Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Cassels and G.L. Cruse.
