THELMA WOMACK OETGEN 

Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA 

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Womack Oetgen, 83, of West Monroe, LA will be 
held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 20, 2009 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral 
Home West Monroe, LA. Rev. Charles Martindale and Rev. Leonard Garlington will 
officiate. Interment to follow at Hasley Cemetery West Monroe, LA under the 
direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Oetgen was born 
March 19, 1926 in Cottonplant, LA and passed away July 16, 2009 in West 
Monroe, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe for over 
70 years and a member of the William Vines Life Group. Mrs. Oetgen was a 
charter member of the Glenwood Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and served as 
president several times during her 48 years of membership. She also served on 
the Board of Directors for 17 years at Glenwood Regional Medical 
Hospital .Mrs. Oetgen also served on numerous boards including Med-Camps of 
LA., Volunteers of America, American Cancer Society, and the West Monroe 
Senior Center. Mrs. Oetgen was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney James 
Womack and Nila Womack and sister, Evelyn Bledsoe. She is survived by her 
husband of 67 years, Harold Oetgen; son, Dale Oetgen and wife Jeannie of 
Calhoun; daughter, Gail Haynes and husband Jimmy of West Monroe; 
grandchildren, Gray Haynes and wife Wen of West Monroe, Wendy Gosdin and 
husband Randy of West Monroe, Johnny Dale Haynes of West Monroe, "Bubba" 
Harold D. Oetgen Jr. of West Monroe; 6 great-grandchildren, Blake Haynes, 
Ashley McFarlin and husband Anthony, Colby Gosdin, Jessie Haynes, Brittany 
Oetgen, and Shelby Gosdin; 3 great-great grandchildren, Candence Haynes, Slvia 
Haynes and Austin McFarlin. Pallbearers will be Carlton Terrell, Jeff Terrell, 
Greg Adams, Wayne Oglesbee, Woody Duncan, Caleb Seney, James "Bubba" Chambless 
and Denny Walter. Honorary pallbearers will be ushers of First Baptist Church 
of West Monroe. Memorials may be made to Med-Camps of LA. Visitation will be 
held Sunday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West 
Monroe, LA.
