Billy was born to Thomas Jefferson and Mary Bernice Osbon on July 4, 1935 in (Up North) Holly Ridge, Louisiana. He was a lifetime resident of North Louisiana until moving to Atlanta in January of 2013 where he and Joyce resided together in Delmar Gardens Retirement Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. Billy is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Joyce Holt Osbon; sons, Cliff Osbon, Shell Osbon (Missy), and Glenn Osbon; grandchildren, S.J. Osbon (Tina), Sarah Osbon, Summer Joy Osbon and Hannah Osbon; a great grandson, Cooper Osbon; a brother Ray Osbon (Doris); many nieces, nephews and more friends than can be counted. Billy retired from J.C. Penny and later owned several businesses in the Monroe Louisiana area. He loved life, his wife and family, his church and most of all, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A funeral service will be held at 5:00pm on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna with Rev. Shell Osbon officiating. Interment will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, Sept 29, 2015, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. Fire fighters of the Smyrna Fire Department will serve as pallbearers. Mark Barton, Jeff Barton, Malcolm Davis, Jesse Fulmer, Don Lee, Art Sharplin, and the Dewey Wood Sunday School Class of New Chapel Hill Church of West Monroe, LA will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service (4:00 PM). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Teen Challenge Louisiana (www.LouisianaTeenChallenge.com).
