IVA GATES OVERTON

Kilpatrick Funeral Home

West Monroe, LA

Graveside services for Iva Gates Overton 99, of Ruston will be held at 2:00 
P.M. Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Twin City Memorial Gardens in West Monroe. Rev 
Mark Fenn will officiate, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West 
Monroe.

Mrs. Overton was born December 8, 1908 in Shreveport, LA and passed away 
August 21, 2008 in Ruston, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.L. Overton.

Mrs. Overton was a secretary for the Ouachita Parish School Board System for 
over 20 years. She also was a longtime member of First Baptist Church West 
Monroe.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Overton Farrar and husband Harry; four 
grandchildren; Harry Farrar, Jr. and wife Suzanne, Gary Farrar and wife Diana, 
Brenda Ringo Kauppinen and husband Paul and Linda Warnat and husband Gus; five 
great-grandchildren; Brandon Ringo, Cameron Ringo, Erica Warnat, Tyler Warnat, 
and Rachel Farrar; 3 step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday at Kilpatrick 
Funeral Home,West Monroe

The family would like to extend a special thanks to The Arbor House of Ruston, 
Agape Hospice Care Alpine Nursing Center and staffs for the care of Mrs. 
Overton during her time of illness.
