E. (Ed) Owen of Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2013, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Owen passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, at age 87 in his home surrounded by family. Born December 4, 1925 in Wesson, Mississippi, he was the second generation owner and operator of Owen's Wheel Alignment, retiring 15 years ago. He was distinguished in service in World War II, fighting in battles in Belgium and Germany. He volunteered for a second tour of duty in patriotism for his country. As a 32nd degree Mason, he also served in that organization and many capacities in his church, an inspiration for many. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Owen; two daughters, Donna Owen Terry and husband Greg, and Charm Owen Bradford; grandchildren, Justin Terry, Caige, Heather, Kristen Bradford and Brittany Pender; sister, Kay Hancock and husband, O.C. Hancock; nieces and nephews, Tana Trichel, Linda Ward, Craig Hancock, Diana Pahal and Sharon Hakim. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Davis, Greg Terry, Elee Trichel, Joseph Hakim, Mike Pahal and Lynn Dixon. Honorary Pallbearer is O. C. Hancock. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the funeral home.
