DEWITT J. OWENS Jr. 

Funeral services for Dewitt J. Owens, Jr., 81, are at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 
17, 2010, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Interment 
will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick 
Funeral Home of West Monroe.
Mr. Owens was born May 5, 1929, in Galbraith, LA and passed away on August 14, 
2010, in West Monroe. He retired from Ouachita Parish Police Jury as a heavy 
equipment operator. He was a member of the Pentecostals of the Twin Cities.
Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his father, Dewitt Owens Sr.; mother and 
stepfather, Lovenia Delacerda and Dan Roberts; three brothers, Jimmy, Charlie, 
and Milton Roberts; and four sisters, Mildred Kelley, Doris Tucker, Merlene 
Duart, and Geraldine Newton.
He is survived by a son, Chad Owens; a daughter, Pam Owens; two grandchildren, 
Luke Owens and Felicia Romero, four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary 
Varner and husband, Ray, Effie Delacerda, and Judy May; a brother, Jackie 
Roberts; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Melvin Delacerda, Sam Delacerda, Jordan May, and Billy Varner.
Visitation is from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, August 16, at Kilpatrick 
Funeral Home of West Monroe.
