Mr. Parham died November 18, 1997 in Baton Rouge. Mr. Parham was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. He was also a World War II Army veteran in which he served five years in the European theater. He received several commendations and medals, including a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of Milford Masonic Lodge #117 in Baton Rouge, the LSU Alumni and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and the Alpha Alpha Epsilon Sigma Phi Extension Fraternity. He was also employed with the LSU Agriculture Extension Service for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He was also a member of the Block and Bridle Alumni Association, the Cattlemans Association on the local, state and national levels in which he was named Man of the Year in 1966. He was also a member of the Downtown Kiwanis in Baton Rouge and was in the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Dottie Kate Parham, and a brother: Henry L. Parham. Survivors include his wife, Beryl Stark Parham of Baton Rouge; daughters: Charlotte Parham Craft and husband, F. Baron Craft of Houston TX, and Carmen Parham Butts and husband, Michael J. Butts, of New Braunfels, TX; three grandsons: F. Baron Craft, Jr. of Houston, TX, Michael J. Butts of Houston, TX, and Roger Butts of Dallas, TX; one brother: Aubrey B. "Pug" Parham of Mangham: and one sister: Kate Parham Tillman of Mangham. Pallbearers will be F. Baron Craft, Jr., Michael J. Butts, Jr., Roger butts, Michael Johnston, R. L. Bell III, Charles Tillman, Kyle Tillman, and Pat Parham. Honorary Pallbearers will be R. L. Bell, Jr., H. E. McFatter, C. O. McKerley, Dick Reynolds, and Theo Jones. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge or Mangham United Methodist Church in Mangham.
