PARKER Funeral services for William E. (Billy) Parker will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 27, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Newellton, La. Rev. Dennis Campbell and Rev. Larry Foster will officiate. Interment will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Billy was born on April 2, 1937 and passed away at his home on February 25, 2016. He was a retired merchant. Billy was passionate about sharing Jesus with others. He loved his church family and faithfully served as deacon for 40 years. Billy touched many lives through Little League Baseball, which he coached for many years. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch LSU sports. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ella Mae Parker, and two nephews, Bob May and Davie Bolton. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Maurene Kelly Parker, children, Kim Nielsen and husband Billy, Gary Parker and wife Renee', Jennifer Nugent and husband Scottie, all of Monroe, La., grandchildren, Kelly Nielsen, Halie Simon and husband Wes, Doug Nielsen, Parker Mitchell and wife Sarah, Hutton Parker, Maura Smith and husband Joey, Robbie Nugent and Miranda Nugent, great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Aubrey Simon, brothers, Jim Parker and wife Helen of Livingston, Tx., Bobby Parker and wife Beverly of Groves, Tx., sisters, Peggy Bolton and husband Harold of Tallulah, La. and Betty May and husband Robert of St. Joseph, La., and a host of nieces and nephews, and his best buddy, Bonnie. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Doug Nielsen, Parker Mitchell, Hutton Parker, Robbie Nugent, Wes Simon, and Joey Smith. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of First Baptist Church Newellton. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service at First Baptist Church Newellton. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Newellton.
