PARMER Funeral services for Rev. Clyde O. Parmer, age 82, of La Porte, Texas and formerly of Monroe, LA will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 13, 2013 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce McGee and Rev. Warren Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, west of Columbia. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, located at 7131 U S Highway 165, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Clyde Osborn Parmer was born on June 7, 1930 at Monroe, LA to the union of his parents; Clyde Dewitt Parmer and Flossie Della Campbell Parmer; and passed away on Thursday January 10, 2013, at Bay Shore Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas. Rev. Parmer was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gordon Ray Parmer, and his niece, Suzy Parmer Butler. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his beloved wife, Helen Smith Parmer of La Porte, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Diane Parmer Garrison and Frank Garrison of La Porte, Texas; his daughter-in-law, Linda Clark Parmer of Columbia; his brother, Edward Parmer of Columbia; and his nephew, Dennis Parmer and wife Connie of Monroe, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be Derrick Marshall, Dennis Parmer, Tim Burris, Danny Arnold, Rick Duckett, and Joseph Duckett.
