Monday, October 20, 2014 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Aleck Nyegaard officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Mr. Patterson, a lifelong resident of Union Parish and a member of Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church, passed away Saturday. He truly loved his family, married 64 years to his loving wife, Imogene, and was a very devoted grandfather. He loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Patterson prided himself as a carpenter and builder. He held himself, as well as others, to high standards. He is preceded in death by his parents, John R. and Josie Taylor Patterson; five brothers, Dan, Arnold Gray, Alex, John Randolph "Buck" and Eugene Patterson; one sister, Lillian Upshaw; and a great grandson, Nathaniel Simpson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Imogene Simpson Patterson; one son, Terry Lee Patterson; two daughters, Jo Anne Cobb and husband, Ricky, and Gloria Riser and husband, Ben, all of Farmerville; two brothers, Thomas Keith "Bo" Patterson of Nashville, TN, and Richard Warren Patterson of West Monroe; two sisters, Lula Mae Hague of San Antonio, TX, and Louise Wright of Natchitoches; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Riser, Heath Massey, Justin Cobb, Will Logue, Cody Phillips, Heath Patterson, Ceismond Nyegaard and Pete Taylor. His great grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
