Interment will follow at Mulhearn Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Perry was born October 8, 1945 and passed away January 24, 2017 at his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer. Luke 16:22 "…And was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom." He was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and NLU. Mr. Perry served in the U.S. Navy and was a former member of the Naval Reserves. One of his proudest accomplishments was sailing around the world on the U.S. S. Bainbridge. He retired from General Motors. Mr. Perry was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He was a member of Mid-South Regional Old Car Club an and a camping enthusiast. Don will be remembered by friends and family as a ve very kind compassionate man who always encouraged everyone he encountered. He wi will be missed by his faithful lap dog, Sassy. Mr. Perry was preceded in death by parents, Rita Nelda Kihneman Perry and John Ke Kenly Perry; daughter, Michelle Renee Perry; son, Brian Kenly Perry; and si sister, Anna Marie Simpson. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Clara Hart Perry; son, Steven Perry; grandsons, Bayne and Breck Perry; and brother, Ken Perry and wife Margie. Pallbearers will be Roy Daniels, Ronnie Nolan, David Beezley, Sidney Glass, Howard R Howard Reese, Bob Tarver. Honorary pallbearer will be Sig Gorman. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the fu the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Compassionate Friends of Monroe or New Hope Bapt Baptist Church.
